About Us

The staff

We are lucky to have a great team of experienced and dedicated staff at Croft Playgroup. We have a range of backgrounds and expertise which means that we have much to offer the children in our care. We strive to work together to ensure the children receive the best possible care.

Some members of staff have an area that they are responsible for (such as SENDCO, English as an Additional Language Coordinator and Fire safety officer). They will access further training to support their role. We encourage staff to develop their areas of interest and expertise so that our practise is continually developing and improving.

Most importantly, we work at Croft Playgroup because we believe in the importance of play and the early years and in providing children with a loving and enabling environment so that they can flourish and develop to their full potential.

The Committee

Our wonderful pre-school is run by a voluntary committee of parents and carers.

The Committee is responsible for settling Pre-school's policies, managing and engaging staff, fundraising and organising social events. It is not responsible for the day-to-day operations: that responsibility lies with the staff, however the range of responsiblities that the Committee deals with has become more complex and demanding as each year has gone by.

We need as many parents as possible to join in with the committee's work, either as a full member or just by volunteering to help out at individual events (celebrations and fundraisers, for example)

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in the Autumn term. At the meeting our Committee is formally voted in and we review the previous year as well as discussing our priorities for the year ahead.

Please see the board in the entrance at Playgroup to see the photographs and names of our current Committee.
